Get to Know Darcie – The Artist
Darcie is a self-taught artist whose work explores the emotional connection between nature, color, and form. With over six years of painting experience and a lifelong creative spirit, she uses art as both a grounding practice and a form of self-expression.
Her pieces are deeply inspired by the natural world—vibrant sunsets, serene sunrises, and sweeping mountain vistas—that stir emotion and shift energy. Whether it's the calm evoked by soft morning light or the awe sparked by a distant horizon, her goal is to translate those feelings into visual experiences that resonate on a deeper level.
Blending organic landscapes with modern minimalism, Darcie creates large-scale acrylic paintings defined by crisp lines, ribbons of color, and geometric elements. She paints entirely freehand, relying on a steady brush rather than tape to achieve her signature precision. Her style has often been described as “deceptively simple”—inviting at first glance, and increasingly intricate the longer one looks.
Mid-century modern design, clean structure, and the beauty of simplicity influence her aesthetic. Her work invites viewers to slow down, look closer, and connect emotionally with the piece in front of them.
Every painting is a thoughtful process, often taking 40 hours or more to complete. Yet for Darcie, time spent creating is always time well spent—especially when a collector finds a personal connection with her work.
She welcomes conversation and connection, and encourages visitors to reach out if a piece moves them or simply sparks curiosity.
“the beauty of simplicity is the complexity it attracts”

THE PROCESS
SIZE
First thing is to decide the best size canvas for your custom project. If you are unsure the perfect size for your space, I’m happy to help you decide.
INSPIRATION
It can help for me to see your space, either through photos or in person (if local), to get a feel for the surrounding atmosphere (wall color, fabric swatches, light, overall mood, etc.)
I appreciate any inspiration you can provide – what particular paintings of mine you favor (take a peek at my Instagram for inspiration too!) any photographs/landscapes/locations you would like me to work from, Pinterest boards, color palettes, etc. The more insight, the better!
SKETCH
I start with a digital mockup for your piece, to give you an idea of what I had in mind and make sure we are on the same page. Once I have your approval, the painting begins. At this point, I typically allow for 8-10 weeks for completion of each piece.
PRICING
My prices for commissioned pieces run about 15% more than ready-to-ship paintings. This is to account for the time spent putting together a cohesive piece that meets all of your wishes. I ask for a 50% deposit with the remaining balance, plus shipping, due once your painting is complete.
